Short-Term Goals!

As I was cuddled up in my bed and binge watching my new obsession, The Carrie Diaries, I began thinking about what I hope to accomplish in life. Maybe it was young Carrie’s ambition that sparked my own thoughts, but I decided to create a list of short-term goals. I usually focus on long-term goals but it’s essential to have mini triumphs that you can work towards. Up until this point I only knew for certain what I wanted to do with my life, where I would want to live, and the type of people I would be surrounded with years from now. I guess it is good I have a vision for the next 10 years of my life, but dismissing the next 10 months isn’t really a recipe for growth and abundance. As much as I would love to flash forward to a year from now, to a time that I am moving on to college and “the big girl world,” I have to make sure I thrive and prepare myself before that point. This list could be named “Short-Term Goals,” but I think it’s more in my fashion to make it sound a little more, well Michaela-esque. So here it is, my…

Now, this has been a long drawn out journey for me. My weight has gone up and down so many times I lost count. This partially could be from stress and my world around me. However, this year I am done making excuses and letting life get in the way of what I want. It’s about time I focus on my health and looking and FEELING as amazing as I can. “How are you going to measure this particular goal?,” you may ask. Well, like I mentioned, looking and feeling amazing is a start. I also plan on continuing my high school tennis career in the spring and being the best I can through that.

I have been pretty proud of myself for keeping up with posting on here regularly. I want to continue with posting fresh and new content, even when I am busy with school. I love using this as an outlet to share my writing and thoughts so it is a major goal of mine to read as many people as I possibly can.

Keeping up as far as fashion goes has never really been my main focus. Don’t get me wrong, I love style and glamour. I just don’t apply it in my own life. I have had a reawakening lately and I have decided to create a new look for myself. One that says, “I am stylish, put together, and on my way to be a great success.”

Keeping up with my grades has always been at the top of my list. This one doesn’t necessarily¬†need to be here because it’s pretty much a guarantee for myself, but I figure it can’t hurt to add.

Choosing the right group of people can make or break who you turn into. I have seen so many people with potential throw it all away for people who could care less about them. I am going to be picky about who I let in my life. So, goodbye to the takers, Debbie downers, and spirit squashers. Its time I only invite those who bring excitement, joy, and love into my life.

So, that’s my list as of July 18th. I am likely to add, but this is an exciting start. I felt my inner Bridget Jones come out as I was thinking of ways to improve my life. As you read, I hope it got you thinking about what you want to accomplish. I plan on posting updates of my goals and how they are going. Let me know what you want to achieve on a short-term basis in your life. If you are absolutely terrified about the idea and don’t know where to begin, start by completing this list:

-A habit I would like to break:

– A skill I want to learn or become better at:

-A place I’d love to visit:

-Someone I hope to be more like:

-Something new I want to experience:

If you’re open to it, I would love to hear some of your responses!best-quotes-2-3
